|I'll never forget you, Nougatine !|
Our first somali cat, News de Bethsabée (pedigree), aka Nougatine,
was a chocolate somali (SOM b), hence the name of our cattery
(Chocolaterie means chocolate factory in French, and Chat is the French for cat).
Here are a few pictures from Nougatine when she came to our house at the age of 3 1/2 months:
Her undercoat not being very warm-coloured, we chose to mate her with a silver somali.
And Nougatine got her first babies in 1999, the "P" year.
Nougatine (right) and Nichrome des Fauve et Or, fawn silver somali,
during their honeymoon in December 1998.
One year later, we had met a nice stud living in Belgium, and mated him with Nougatine.
Sadly, a pancreatic cancer overwhelmed Nougatine (and the 4 foetuses she was bearing) in less than 2 weeks.
She was only 2 1/2 years old.
On January 7th, 2000, a last-chance operation was done and we decided not to wake her up.
For a very long time, I thought I saw her walk by every time I opened a door...
I'll never forget you, Nougatine !
